may 13 to 20

This week has been moreso about cleaning, helping bake and playing outside than academics. We have done the reading, but I have less pictures this time.

Theresa's stengths and weaknesses remain consistent. She is stilk very good at math without much help. She understands basic addition, counting, more than/less than etc. You can see hear that she is learning about how calenders work.

 Swimming lessons continue.
These are some of the arts/crafts from her catechism book. She cut out and glued the leaves herself.

We have been soending as much time outside as possible, especially now that it is getting warmer.
 We have done some baking.
These are all from her reading book. Theresa is much improved in reading, although she still gets frustrated easily. She has been reading some books mostly on her own.

These are some of the arts and crafts we have done.

Once again I am sorry for the inconsistency. We are plugging along over here and I will keep this window open on my phone so I can update on the fly.

Learning about Jesus's miracles

In math we're counting/writing up to 32. She can count higher, it's the writing that takes some practice.
Making a house

My mom came over and did some painting with them. The first is a rooster and the second is the sun.

Valentine's Day cards.
Proud of herself and excited to show you!

Practicing her letters

Reading. Reading is coming the slowest, so we are focusing mostly on that.

Theresa is advancing in her reading, she is sounding it out much better now and reading faster.

We have been doing some crafts this week, I will post pictures soon.

She is getting lots of excersize from swimming lessons and outdoor play.

Theresa with her reading book. We are on lesson 17 now. She is getting better at sounding words out, but often guesses and gets frustrated. For example, we were reading seed and she sounded every sound out, but guessed snail. So we are working on "smooshing" the sounds together.

This is her new dollhouse from St. Nick. I've found it to be very good for imaginative play.

More play.

Reading book.

Letter/writing practice.
Math concepts have been advancing faster. This is an example of which activity comes first.

Learning about time.

Learning about money. She is up to working with and adding dimes, nickles and pennies. Mostly addition.

Are there more...

Counting and writing up to the number 20. She can count higher, but this is where we are in the math book.
Activities and crafts. She is better at following in the lines and was able to follow the colouring instructions on her own.

A craft for Dad.

Cutting and gluing on her own. These are things she is grateful for.
